The Mexican Association of Rhode Island helps promote sports in our community. One of the ways is by supporting the Mexican Soccer League. Mexican Soccer League of Rhode Island The Mexican Soccer League was founded in 1996 by a small group of Mexican community leaders in Rhode Island. It started with only eight teams playing at Central High School in Providence, RI. Recently, it has grown so much that it now has 19 teams that include both the Rhode Island and Massachusetts areas. The Mexican Soccer League is home for players of numerous ethnic groups from Central and South America among others.
